Memory Foam is a Brooklyn based artist-led initiative founded in 2018 by Yael Malka, Kat Shannon and Sacha Vega. They began working together with a shared excitement for experimenting collaboratively and exploring intimacy in art making. Their sustained relationship stems from the need to carve out and hold space they didn’t see for themselves in New York’s emerging art community at large. They approach everything they do with a deep commitment to intention, thoughtfulness, research and playfulness.

Whether through curating exhibitions, publishing, or fostering conversations, Memory Foam is committed to amplifying voices of artists and creators who are combating systemic inequities. Memory Foam strives to challenge the ways in which artists are reduced to their most acclaimed and profitable parts by celebrating each individual's full dimensionality. Memory Foam rejects convention and gatekeeping by seeking to create a truly intersectional foundation on which to build the future of art.
